Introduces students to contemporary challenges in preventing, detecting, diagnosing and treating emerging and newly emerging pathogens. Provides students with team-based opportunities to brainstorm, propose and present innovative solutions to such challenges. Includes expert lecturers on emerging problems in infectious diseases; team-based brainstorming sessions on identifying problems in infectious diseases and proposing innovative solutions; team-based presentations on identified problems in infectious diseases and proposed innovative solutions. Teams of students will be expected to prepare and deliver short presentations as part of the course, outlining identified problems in infectious diseases and proposing innovative solutions.
