Intended to educate engineers, physicists, and physical chemists about basic concepts in immunology, and describe how approaches rooted in the physical sciences (especially theory/computation) can help address important immunological questions. The subject aims to inspire engineers and physical scientists to work together with immunologists and virologists to advance our mechanistic understanding of the immune response to pathogens and to harness this knowledge for the rational design of therapeutic protocols (e.g., vaccines).
