Vicente Parot receives 2019 Deutsch Fellowship supporting post-doctoral resarch in basic or clinical research

Vicente Parot (MEMP PhD, 2019), an HST alumnus, recently received the 2019 Deutsch Fellowship by the Optical Society of America (OSA). This fellowship is presented by the OSA Foundation and The Wellman Center for Photomedicine (WCP) at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). The Thomas F. Deutsch Fellowship honors the extraordinary contributions Dr. Deutsch made to the field of Biomedical Optics. A pioneer in the development of lasers and laser applications, a trailblazer, and a mentor, Dr. Deutsch was a role model to numerous physicists and engineers pursuing careers in biomedical optics.

This one-year multidisciplinary Fellowship specifically fosters interactions between researchers from diverse fields of science and medicine and will support post-doctoral investigators pursuing training in either basic or clinical research. For additional information regarding the Wellman Center please visit http://www.massgeneral.org/wellman. This fellowship is endowed through donations from the Deutsch family, OSA members and a generous contribution from IPG Photonics.
