Austin Huang ’09, a MEMP alum of the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology program (HST), the degree-granting program housed within the Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES), recently represented Pfizer in the 2017 Aspen Ideas Festival.
Huang is the Biomedical Data Science Lead for Computational Biomedicine / Genome Sciences and Technology within Pfizer Worldwide Research and Development. He leads a broad range of projects to enable human-derived evidence for translational efficacy using advanced analytical methods—machine learning, artificial intelligence, probabilistic modeling—applied to large-scale electronic medical record (EMR) and molecular biomarker data.
The festival, which is the nation’s premier, a public gathering place for leaders from around the globe to present and discuss the ideas and issues that both shape our lives and challenge our times, was founded in 2005 and draws 3,000 attendees annually to participate in more than 200 sessions on topics ranging from
Pfizer’s scholars engaged in dialogues of global health and science and shared their insights and experiences throughout the festival weekend.
