Sixteen members of the MIT engineering faculty received awards in recognition of their scholarship, service, and overall excellence in the past calendar quarter.

Members of the MIT engineering faculty receive many awards in recognition of their scholarship, service, and overall excellence. The School of Engineering periodically recognizes their achievements by highlighting the honors, prizes, and medals won by faculty working in our academic departments, labs, and centers.
- Paul Blainey of the Department of Biological Engineering received the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Collaborative Pairs Phase 2 on Oct. 19, 2022.
- Brett E. Bouma, of the Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES), and an HST faculty member, was named a 2022 National Academy of Inventors Fellow on Dec. 8.
- Markus Buehler of the departments of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering received the Society of Engineering Science's James R. Rice Medal on Oct. 21.
- Arup Chakraborty, a faculty member of HST and of IMES, and of the Department of Chemical Engineering, received the APS Max Delbruck Prize in Biological Physics on Oct. 26.
- Gang Chen of the Department of Mechanical Engineering was named to the Physics World Top 10 Breakthroughs of 2022 for his work showing that cubic boron arsenide is the best semiconductor material ever found on Dec. 8.
- Connor Wilson Coley of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science was selected to the Schmidt Futures' AI2050 Early Career Fellows on Nov. 8.
- Brandon DeKosky of the Department of Chemical Engineering received the Antibody Society's James S. Huston Antibody Science Talent Award on Oct. 20.
- Lee Gehrke of IMES, and an HST faculty member, was named a 2022 National Academy of Inventors Fellow on Dec. 8.
- Asegun Henry of the Department of Mechanical Engineering was named to the Physics World Top 10 Breakthroughs of 2022 for his research on super-efficient electricity generation on Dec. 8.
- Klavs Jensen of the Department of Chemical Engineering was elected as a fellow of Academy of Inventors on Dec. 14.
- Gareth McKinley of the Department of Mechanical Engineering received the Society of Engineering Science's G.I. Taylor Medal on Oct. 21.
- Yuriy Roman of the Department of Chemical Engineering received the NACS 2023–24 Paul H. Emmett Award on Nov. 11.
- Giovanni Traverso of the Department of Mechanical Engineering was named a 2022 National Academy of Inventors Fellow on Dec. 8.
- Evelyn Wang of the Department of Mechanical Engineering was named a 2022 Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate on Nov. 15.
- Bilge Yildiz of the departments of Materials Science and Engineering and Nuclear Science and Engineering received the Koç University Rahmi M. Koç Medal of Science on Dec. 27.
- Xuanhe Zhao of the Department of Mechanical Engineering was named to the Time magazine 200 Best Inventions of 2022 on Nov. 11.
