Associate Professor Lydia Bourouiba, department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and department of Mechanical Engineering, an HST faculty member, and core faculty at the Institute for Medical Engineering & Science (IMES), was a 2018 recipient of the Smith Family Foundation Odyssey Award for creative and innovative junior investigators who are working on high impact ideas to generate breakthroughs and drive new directions in biomedical research. The Smith Family Foundation Odyssey Award was created in 2017 to fuel creativity and innovation in junior investigators in the basic sciences.
