Watching someone close to her struggle with opioid addiction, then-HST Ph.D. student Emily Lindemer noticed the obstacles faced by people in recovery. During a 2016 MIT health hackathon, she led a team seeking to develop a technology to help mediate the constant environmental triggers that lead to relapse. Now an HST alum, Emily is a co-founder of a startup that has developed an app called Hey, Charlie, currently being piloted at local clinics.
