Wolfram Goessling welcomed as new HST Director

In an announcement to the Harvard Medical School and Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology communities on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, the news was shared that Dr. Wolfram Goessling is the new HMS director of the HST program.

HST Students Go to Work on the Navajo Reservation

A group of us, students from the Harvard-MIT Program in Health Sciences and Technology (HST), were recently offered the opportunity to volunteer with a non-profit organization staffing health screening clinics for preschoolers in Navajo Nation, a semi-autonomous Indian reservation that stretches across Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico.

David Cohen steps down as HST Director

Dr. David Cohen, co-Director of the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology (HST) program and the Robert H. Ebert Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, is stepping down after a nine-year tenure and will become Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Patricia Cunningham, Academic Programs Administrator for IMES and HST, was honored with the 2014 Richard A. Gillis Award for Excellence in Medical Education at Harvard Medical School’s annual Teaching Awards Ceremony on May 5.

HST Students Volunteer Time and Enthusiasm at PhUn Day

On Saturday, November 2, a group of 20 HST students headed to the Boston Children’s Museum to volunteer their time at Physiology PhUn Day, an event organized by the American Physiology Society and designed to get young children excited about medicine and science. Since 2010, students in the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology (HST) program have helped make the event a success.
